Position Description 

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Senior Director of Development is an energetic, curious, creative, and motivated professional who leads the design, implementation, and management of all fundraising and communication efforts in order to maintain and expand diversified funding streams, facilitate financial growth, and engage community supporters to secure and grow SMART’s current annual budget of $3.5M. The ideal candidate exhibits a strong passion for SMART’s mission, strong written and oral communication skills, strong relationship-building skills, and a track record of fundraising success. We are seeking a strategic thinker with the ability to clearly and articulately describe SMART’s work and the confidence to craft a compelling ask. The Senior Director of Development & Communications directly supervises the Grants & Communications Manager and the Events & Donor Engagement Manager, ensuring alignment across fundraising, communications, donor engagement, and events.
